Chubb Names Paul Johnstone President of Canadian Operations; John Alfieri retires after nearly two decades of service
WHITEHOUSE STATION, NJ, May 6, 2022 /CNW/ – Chubb today announced that Paul Johnson will assume the role of National President of Business Operations for the company in Canada, subject to regulatory approvals. Currently, Mr. Johnstone is Chief Operating Officer of Canada. In his new role, which becomes effective 1st of JulyMr. Johnstone will assume executive responsibility for operating the organization’s retail property and casualty insurance business, including its high net worth personal lines and accident and health offerings for Canada-based clients served by brokers and independent agents.
Mr. Johnstone succeeds Jean Alfieri, who will retire from Chubb in July after serving the company for nearly two decades. Mr. Johnstone will report to Chris Malenofirst vice-president, Chubb Group and Division President, North American Field Operations.

Mr. Johnstone has nearly three decades of experience in the Canadian insurance market spanning the reinsurance and property and casualty industries. Prior to Chubb’s acquisition by ACE in January 2016he served as Senior Vice President of Chubb’s Personal Risk Services business in Canada, where he oversaw the modernization of its operating systems and strategic distribution expansion. He joined Chubb in 1994 as a commercial insurance associate. Mr. Johnstone holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Windsor and holds a CRM and a certificate in public administration.
